I went out on a friends hen night recently (that’s a bachelorette party for anyone outside of the UK) and after many hours of drinking, dancing and stumbling around town failing to find a taxi, the evening finally ended with a group of us squatting down in an alleyway for a much needed pee! I mentioned this in passing to some colleagues at work when we were discussing our respective weekends, expecting them to find it a humorous incident, but instead they reacted with disgust at my ‘unladylike conduct.’ The colleagues in question were male. Since their attitude is pretty clear, I would like to know what other women think of what I did and, if they have ever done the same thing after a night on the tiles, how people responded to their behaviour?

some people don't understand how fun a girls night out can be..sometimes the stories that come from a night like that aren't necessarily ones that other people can relate too.. I personally Can relate.. 14 years ago I met this girl and we hit it off.. We were so drunk, we were walking and stumbling around just as you were and we had to pee.. So we ran down this ally and went behind this large size garbage can and pee'd.. We have been best friends since that day and always share our pee stories. Most people don't care, some people laugh and others think its stupid.. But I think your the kind of gal who's going to have some fun stories to tell when you are older ! kudos to you!

I think this is one for the female gender. In a pinch a man can find a tree or a corner, but a woman cannot. Everyone does something crazy once in their lives. There are far more toilets for men than for women, and women make beelines for toilets during intermissions and end up in long waiting lines.
If this was an exception more power for you, especially if there was privacy in your group surrounding you, but may I suggest that you try to be decent and find a toilet. In your inebriated condition you or one in your group could be singled out and violated. Take care.

I admit perhaps it was poor judgment in confiding such behavior in men, but we are often held to the double standard. Every man I know has urinated outdoors at least once in his life, and probably sober. But we are expected to *act* like ladies at all times.
