I worry about this because of all the Mcmansions.... and huge houses and roads everywhere.... it affects drainage for one and causes flooding..... also where should the animels live? How can we have clean air if everything is covered in concrete? Do any of you think about how many children you want to have and how many you SHOULD have? What about adoption as an option? Do any of you recycle?

It is just not the building we are over populated.
People need to start practiceing birth control.
National geographic said one article I read some time ago
The earth was designed to hold 4 billion people
By calulating the land surface and divideing by 2 because half is rock or national forest or something where you can't live.
Then I think they divided it again. For public buildings school, etc.roads. the remaining fourth, people can live on. Grow food and raise animals. With 4 billion there is gobs of room.
Now if they can just figure out how to stop polution.

As we run out of room, we will build up. Right now you could house the entire population of the planet in Texas. Have you ever taken a road trip? The earth is empty of people.

You make an assumption that building is damaging the earth. This is false. No matter is being created or destroyed. It is as valid to ask, "Will mixing my peas and mashed potatoes damage my dinner?"

People will never stop building. Deal with it.

people will never stop building

why should they

the "earth" has survived many things including the dinasaurs and whatever did them in

the earth will be fine

people may suffer if we get too many people and too much stuff but it seems that at this point, most of the earth is still empty

Good Question. My friends are having problems with coyotes in their neighborhood and are all pissed because family animals are being attacked and what not. I laugh at them that's what happens when you take away what was once theirs, that use to be their home you know. I wish they would stop already.

People will keep dying too, you know. It'll balance out eventually, and before you die no "can't freely breath" thing is going to happen.

I opften ask myself that question. I don't think we ever will be happy. We always have to be bigger and better and we ALWAYS have to be right. We never can just STOP!
