This really gets on my nerves... big time. Anybody else notice how almost every movie uses that hackneyed phrase?? All the characters have names... they ALL go by their names, usually just the last names. All except this one CENTRAL character who happens to be the wife or the girlfriend or the daughter of this one guy hero. And everybody keeps calling her "THE GIRL." It's SO stupid.

Who's with me on this? Who can name at least one film where they do this? I can name two right off the top of my head: "Enemy of the State" "Lethal Weapon"

OK, I know that a whole bunch of guys are going to get real upset, don't bother. Just think if you watched a movie where a whole bunch of women were interacting, and they kept saying "THE GUY" all the time. Wouldn't that seem stupid, too???

I know what you're saying. I can't think of any names of movies right now, but I totally understand. I think it just comes down to the violent, action, adventure type of films are still strictly for the boys - ya know what I mean? Like take Thelma and Louise for example - that movie goes in the opposite direction and makes us women look like we are horny, man-hating rebel sluts - and I actually like that movie. It's just taking Hollywood a long time to catch up to the year 2006.

Okay, this might not be what you are looking for, I am obviously a women, but I hate women that take charge in movies. Like in Pirates of the Caribbean, when Kiera Knightley's character is all of a sudden like taking charge of everything it gets me so mad!! It's like when did you all of a sudden know how to swordfight!? Come on!!

You mean like "sex in the city"? were the main characters are always refering to "the guys"... there is no double standard they both do it relax it is not sexist. It is just that in an attempt to be real they just do what normal people do.
