Wow, this is actually my first question answering or asking attempt here at Yahoo!* Usually I'm too lazy to look into all the details, but this simple question actually interests me since i found momentum an interesting topic in grade 12 physics. The product m x v = p
p, is the variable representing momentum. To help familiarize yourself with this phenomenon think about collisons between objects, (car accidents sadly being a common example). To give an idea about the magnitude of impact, two key factors are multiplied. The velocity or how fast its going with a specified direction, and mass of the object. Momentum is the resulting term used.
