first of all I have to ask what kind of emails these are, if they have even the slightest bit of sexual undertone then for the sake of all involved the situation should be avoided. you could end up in trouble. what if her parents saw the emails and decided to come after you or if someone you know saw the emails, it is even a possibility that the person you are emailing isn't a 16 year old girl but someone whose job it is to pose as a 16 year old girl to bust people who have bad intentions. you can have a no strings attached email relationship with someone who is at least 18 and save yourself a lot of trouble and likely the girl involved as well don't even think you can sneak around with a girl that young either even if is through email, she will tell her friends and they will tell others and eventually it will come back to haunt you

Yes, for several reasons: first, what could the two possibly have in common? Depending on the nature of the conversation, it is possibly illegal. Finally, if the girl develops a crush on him, it can lead to a whole host of other issues. It doesn't matter where they are from - the adult has the responibility to END the relationship. I know that you feel it's harmless and probably is but she is still underage and impressionable.It is almost always frowned on and could get you in some big trouble because of her age.The important thing is what your influence would be on her.Remember this isn't a father talking to a daughter,it's a adult male talking to a underage young girl.Why risk the embarrassment? I found myself in that predicament and glad I made the right choice to stop talking.I miss our talks but not the worry if i was doing the right thing or not in talking to her.

It is generally frowned upon...the age difference is just too great and she is still just a kid. They do have chat rooms and such for men and women your age. Why don't you check that out? And don't worry about the girl...she's a teenager and has plenty of people to talk to probably. She won't miss you. Take care!
