I'd like to know about anyone's experience in the biology major programs at those oregon universities, because I want to transfer to a good institution.
Do the profs work well with students and in small groups?
Are the classes mostly lecture or are they discussion based?
Are internships/research opportunities very available?

I've met a lot of the Portland State folks and they are good people. Their strengths are probably in organismal biology and ecology, but that just may be the people I know. I think they get a lot of time for one-on-one interaction. Its a commuter school, so the culture is a little different.

I wouldn't try to get too many discussion-oriented classes in undergrad biology. It's just too hard to get the information across in discussion format.
