Back when I used to ride Donorcycles, I averaged 50 mpg with my Honda 400cmt Twinstar...My Suzuki GS1000G got around 38-40mpg with a Full Fairing.

Currently I am driving a 98 Ford Escort Wagon with a 5 spd manual. My last 3 tanks have been 38, 38.883, and 42.892mpg. My year round average is around 35.5mpg.
