They are both superb actors, but Johnny Depp has the looks. Tom didn't have that even in his younger years.

Johnny Depp. Tom Hanks has not aged well at all. We can only hope that Mr. Depp ages well. So far so good. Hanks has made some good films. But he's never been sexy! I assume that this is the comparison you are making.

Based on looks Johnny Depp hands down and based oon movies...... I'll go with Tom Hanks b/c I think he has had more "successful" movies than Depp.

I think Hanks is a better actor, but Depp is better looking. I like both alot though, and do like Depp's acting, just don't think he is as good as Hanks is.

tom hanks is not really good looking and he is not the hot but
Johny depp is so hot and he acts good and he has good movies

Oooooh that is a toughie. They are both gifted actors. Ultimately, I choose Tom Hanks because of his longevity in the business and because he's the cute guy next door. (Johnny Depp IS really sexy though!)

Tom Hanks by a long ways. Tom is a very versatile actor. Johnny seem to be too limited by the character rolls he plays.
