I know how you feel. I wish it weren't Titanic but it is. Chances of beating it are slim given that Movies do not get as long a run time as Titanic did. It is required of a movie to practically beat Titanic just within it's opening weekend; because the film will not be in theaters long. Titanic made it's money due to referral while movies today have to make their money due to marketing. Although there have been many better movies than Titanic in these nine years they will never get the chance that Titanic had.

Considering Titanic made more than $6 billion worldwide and ran in theaters from December until August, it will be hard to break that record.
