Who would win in a fight, Superman or the Hulk?

Superman would, but it wouldn't necessarily be about strength or tactics, it would eventually boil down to physics.

Eventually, Supes and the Hulk are going to trade blows with significant *knockback*, right? As in, "I hit you, and now you're flying *over* the Rockies and on your way to the Pacific Ocean," kinds of knockback, right? It is just a side effect of having that much raw physical strength at your disposal and being able to use it without tearing yourself apart bodily....

Ok then, all Superman has to do if he has half a brain in his head, which lately he does, is to start using *uppercuts* when he punches. Hulk will do much the same because of that "HULK SMASH PUNY HUMANS!!" mentality.

Trouble is, it's been an established weakness of the Hulk's for years now that he *has to breathe*. Knockout gas can take him out, and he *can* pass out from lack of oxygen if not outright suffocate.

So, all Supes has to do is hit Hulk hard enough for Mr. Banner to attain orbital velocity, and an altitude outside the outer, not-really-breathable reaches of the atmosphere. Hulk finds himself falling around the planet instead of into it, realizes he lacks leverage (mainly by instinct) and starts to panic, flail, and....he uses up his air supply and knocks himself out. Game Over.

(besides, one could also argue that this is the most humane way to end the fight.....if Supes were really wanting to be a jerk about it and didn't care about the collateral damage from shockwaves--supremely out of character, I know--he could just pump his energies into staying invulnerable, *in place* and be the immovable object to the Hulk's Irresistable Force...eventually the Hulk will get so strong he *hurts* himself hitting Superman, but in the process he'd likely be so far gone he'd tear himself down *limb for limb* trying....and the collateral damage, geez, we're talking about possibly flattening a whole planetary hemisphere just from *shockwaves* alone....)

They both would win. Superman and the Hulk would never fight each other. They only join together to fight the evil people.

Superman would win in the long run because unlike most of the Hulk's incarnations, Superman would remain sane and rational the whole time.
The Hulk's only advantage is he gets stronger when he gets madder, but even that has its limits and "Hulk Smash!" isn't really that much of a battle strategy.

unlimited strength on either side the difference is superman does have a weakness kryptonite. however if supe really wanted to win and winning isnt a fair fight he could use heat vision and kill him or use super cold breath and freeze hulk solid....

well if you really want the truth. it would be superman the simple fact is he is immortal all the time no changing at all. on the other hand when the hulk morphs he only morphs for a short time or until he realizes that he hurt someone or just hand him a shiny ball and when he turns back human then he's vulnerable thats my opinion

If he did not revert to Banner this would be a situation much like Big Blue's death at the hands of Doomsday, " The madder Hulk Get the stronger Hulk Get!!!!!!!!!!!" Supies solar power although Massive can be depleted to such levels as to cause him to tire and even become vulnerable
