Yes they are all that. I have wondered the same thing!

Apparently, both sides hate eachother. It's stupid really. I'm discraced at both. The best both parties could come up with were Bush and Kerry, what the...

Look, there have been great Republican candidates in the past and great Democratic candidates.

Fundamentally Republicans stand for small government and Democrats for big government. People can support either because of views, that and it's not always about their leaders. We're all people and I have views that don't pertain to the party I'm in... I just happen to identify more with that party than any other..

And those of you who decide this is a good time to yell back at democrats. Look up hippocracy. It's important for debating and intelligence reasons that even people like the person who asked this question realize that those ARE people on the other side of the spectrum. Your views don't corespond with their's and you can argue and debate but once you get into name calling, game's over you're wrong... Everytime.

Why do the people support the Democratic party??? Aren't they (leaders) archaic and narrow-minded opinionated people??

There. One good sweeping, unfounded generalization deserves another. Why not ask a question instead of making pointless generalizations? The truth is that both parties are "archaic and narrow-minded opinionated people." The basic party lines of either party has not changed much in the last 50-75 years. So, if one party is archaic, so is the other one.
I think that is a fair answer; we need to ask now "what kind of political party do you think would advance the country?"
NOT another partisan insult; that does not solve anything.

I happen to be a Republican and I think about what people say and about the issues. Every one has there opinion and whenever I have heard two parties debating a situation there has never been more opinion and narrow-mindness than I have heard from the Democratic party for the most part
The reason I am Republican is because my party tends to answer questions instead of skirting around the issue and not answering the questions. And they represent what I believe.

Why does anyone support the government anyway? We REALLY don't need anyone controlling our lives whether it be religious leaders touting about a god that was created and embellished upon over the eons by MAN; or value destroying ego-maniacal job justifying arm backed bureaucrats/politicians; or even lazy so-call professors that doesn't realize that those who can do; those who can't teach, and changes their opinions with each change of the wind... what we really need is absolutely integrated honesty, and objective reality. This crap that's been going on from the beginning of man's appearance on earth will finally cease and then we can truly become civilized and worthy of taking up space in this universe.

You are brilliant and right. (Would an answer like that get me some points?)

It seems now the following people would be inclined to vote Republican: lobbyists, ultra-wealthy focused primarily on tax avoidance, people who have existing and secure health coverage, energy and pharma executives and heavy investors, war profiteers, people against stem cell medical advances, homophobes, Christians who want to create a theocracy, and Jenna and Barb Bush.

Yes, but so are the Democrats, who claim to be open minded. They espouse open mindedness, when their actions prove that they are just as tied to a political agenda as the Republicans. Neither side has a right to claim a fair open minded approach to anything political.

Being open-minded only gets you in trouble. Look at all the open-minded people who let the non-white people into this country. None of them are making America better. Liberals are trying to ruin America.

Anyone who is political is opinionated...but thinking that a group is narrow minded tends to make you the same...just because someone doesn't think your way doesn't make them wrong....when I figured that out...I used to be more liberal when I was younger.., and thought that anyone who was conservative was narrow minded...but then I realized that I was thinking that they were wrong because I didn't agree with them....that totally blew my mind.

Because given the choices they are by far and away the best party to have in power... that is if you love America and want to see it prosper.
