id say its a toss up between bing crosby, frank sinatra and dean martin

im going to go for frank sinatra

Toughie-- I'd have to say Frank Sinatra, although Harry Connick Jr has the advantage of being a little easier on the eyes than Sinatra, even early in his career.

Thats a tuff one because i think Dean Martin deserves to take that title out but if your talking popularity status then it would probly have to go to Frank Sinatra. Mind you Elvis Presley was a dreamy croona in his day and Tony Bennet is a great modern day croona. I dont know how to answer your question now....sorry :-/
