Alright last night I got overly loaded and ended up stepping on a beer bottle and slicing my foot open quite bad. I went to the hospital where I was given 6 stitches. As my foot was frozen after this I felt I was fine to go back out partying, walking on it all night. This morning when I got home I noticed that one of the stitches has came out, causing the wound to appear a little separated in one area. Should I return to the hospital and get another stitch, or from your experiences is this really nothing to worry about. I would really prefer not to go back, I'm not to fond about the whole stitching process. Also, does it hurt when you get the stitches taken out. Thanks a lot.

Go to the drug store and ask for some 'butterfly' bandages. These have sticky on both sides and nothing in the middle so that they will keep the wound together. You need to keep them on until the edges of the wound are approximated, or healed up...or you will have a larger scar and an opening for infection. No more partying until you're healed up a little, ok?

Go to your local pharmacy and get a pack of steri-strips or butterflies stitches and put it on one side of the wound pulling it closed on the opposite side. Make certain that the skin is closed in the same direction as the other sutures and you should be fine. Keep the area clean and dry so as not to get an infection at the site though. Good luck.

Oh go party till they all fall out! what the hell, it's only your foot for God's sake.Geez--- go get it fixed idiot and quit the partying untill it's healed.

depending on how gapped it is i would get it stitch up again or get a butterfly tape on it don,t let it get infected.

no it doesn't hurt when they come out the wound is healed...your fine most likely.

idk about going back, cuz ive only had stiches in my mouth and they dissolved in like 4 days. but when they came out, there was a second of bleeding, then nothing. it didnt hurt at all.
