It would really be easier to buy something like Clearisil or another cheap acne product, but if you MUST use something around the house, a good method is to ice it, put toothpaste on it, wait maybe 10-15 minutes, wash the toothpaste off, ice again, then if you still see them, use some makeup. It should either get rid of them or at least make them less noticable.

I hate to say this but I have tried all of those at home remedies and nothing has ever worked for me... I think some of them are myths. I know you said household products, but if you can get to the store check out the skin section and there are a ton of overnight acne zapping products. Make sure to look for something with Benzyol Peroxide (not sure how to spell it but it will say it on the label).

you can use toothpaste. also, if you want to reduce the redness and puffiness of a pimple, take that eyedrop stuff that helps red eyes...like Visine(sp?) and put some on a cotton swab. put that in the freezer for about 5 minutes. then take it out and hold it on your pimple for another 5 minutes. the eyedrops will reduce the redness and the coldness will reduce puffiness. good luck!
