Who thinks that Americans should have the choice of where there tax dollars go for their childs education. I am a 15 yr old kid and i go to a Catholic School and i think that my education there has been much better than what i had when i went to a public school. I think that people think that people should have the choice of where the money and child goes to school. What are your thoughts and what do you think of the American education system?

I think money for schools should be straight accrossed the board. All schools should be created equal. I don't think simply because a child's family has money they should automatically get a better school and better education. Schools are treated like the salvation army. They have to beg for donations. The whole idea needs to be overhauled hell thrown out and start from scratch! My niece goes to a christian academy, the price is insane, and for what? The education she is entitled to anyway.

That would be something like the school voucher system that has worked in school systems all over the place where it has been tried. I love the idea and support it totally. If my kid can't learn at a school, my tax dollars should be able to follow him to a school where he can learn.

Education is screwed up because the people in charge, the unions, want it to be. Uneducated voters, vote for democrats, so they keep pumping out an ingnorant populous. If economics 101 were taught properly there would be no democratic party, becuase their "hate the rich" rhetoric would never sell.

You're a pretty astute guy. I've always believed in vouchers. It kills me that some parents have to pay that high public school tax in addition to private school fees in order for their son or daughter to get a proper education.

I think we should because I home school my four and there are no tax breaks and not much help with text books. I still pay the same in taxes and people who don't even have children also pay into it.

the education system is screwed up for that exact reason... education shouldn't be based on property taxes... this will always leave the poor areas in need and the rich areas overcompensated, make it universal I say
