im thinking about getting my tongue pierced...but im not sure yet,i mean how much does it hurt and could it swell up ?really want t know cuz i really want it doing,

It hurts like no pain you have ever felt, and it does so for 2 weeks. You have to rinse your mouth with yellow listerine after every bite of food or dring for like 5 minutes for the first month. It sweels up to the point where none of your friends can understand a word you say. I withstood it but found out a couple years later that nothing was really cool about it and all the crying and pain I had gone through had made no possitive effects on my life. Best wishes

i got my tongue pierced like 4 months ago. it isnt as bad as everyone says. I did my research 4 like 2 months b4 i got it. When they do the actual piercing it doesnt hurt at all. except when you put your tongue in your mouth 4 the first time it weird.. your tongue will swell it isnt as bad... good tip 4 u water and ice will become ur new friend. after u get ur piercing i would suggest takin ibprofen or a pill with it. it does help the swelling not to be so bad.

I've had my tongue pierced for 4 years. I still remember what it felt like when I first got it. I wont lie to you and tell you that it did not hurt because it did. That immediate moment, it felt like what was really happening; A needle being forced through a piece of flesh as sensitive as your tongue. After that, it felt weird because there is peice of jewelry in your mouth. The shop gave me directions on what to do and what not and damn I wish I would've listened. The directions were to suck on ice for abot 24 hrs and not to eat anything solid or if I decided to, do it really slow on one side of your mouth. I was hungry afterwards so I went to Sonics and got a fat burger and bit right into my tongue. It bleed and was the worst pain that I hAVE ever felt. Anywayz, now I love having my ring. When I take it out, it feels like something is missing. I would never take it out..Trust, you would like it..Do it!
p.s. Follow the directions on the sheet that they give you..lol.

ok. yea it hurts yea it swells but it all goes away in a week. i had mine done for my 27th b-day and im 28 AND 37 weeks pregnnat. i wouldnt change the fact that i got it done and i took it out for 3 months and was able to put it right back in. i say go for it. just go to a place thats clean and make sure they are a certified piercer

It is really painful and your tongue will swell up to the point you can barely talk.

I wouldn't peirce my tongue. But that is probably cuz i was taught not to. My aunt got her tongue peirced. But it freaks me out. G2G.
