I thought I read something about it, also, didnt know she was a woman, til I read the article, always thought a man wrote to kill a mockingbird,the only book she ever wrote.

Harper Lee hit the big time with her first and only book To Kill A Mockingbird. For reasons known only to her, she has never written another one.
Last I heard, she is still alive, but as the previous poster stated, living the live of a recluse away from the public eye.

Harper Lee is still alive and well. She actually wrote a letter that appeared in a summer issue of the O magazine.

No, she's still alive. Just very much out of the public eye for years. This is what she prefers, according to what I've read.
