No, it probably is not right for this wild animal to be confined in someone's home. I got my first wolf when I lived in the middle of Los Angeles. I did not know it would be and act just like a REAL wolf. I educated myself about wolves, and when Sasha was 6 months old I moved to the most rural part of California I could find and ended up living 6 miles from the nearest neighbor, just so she could be happy. I have had many wolves since that time, some rescues from cities. I think you really have to put the wild animal's needs before your desire to own an "exotic", because as you say, the animal is bored and in an unnatural environment. Wolves do make excellent pets though, if people do the research and know how to care for them. It is best if they have a large pen for them, not just a backyard, and take them for long runs chasing your vehicle on dirt roads. They need their exercise.

well it depends on wether they have enough protection around thier home so that the wolf can not get out of the propety and hurt someone and depends on wether or not they have the right permits and also depends on the zoning laws in your area so if the person has all of this you can not stop them sure you can have have ralley and things trying to stop the neoghbors from having the wolf but in fact that basically it is up to the peson who has them to maintain safety for the public at all tiems and be responsible if something should happen to a person(or people) and or property or even an animal so remember this so i guess i should say i guess the neighbor has the right to have the wolf

There's no such thing as a "domestic" wolf. Wolves are wild animals. They belong in the wild. Period.

It has always been my beleif that people who keep such animals are lacking some sort of self esteem and need these pets to make them feel "cool" or important - of course its never in the best interest of the animal

I don't know what state you live in. But in Arizona and California (maybe all states) it's illegal to have wolf or any other animal that's considered wild, as a pet. But maybe she considers it a dog.

it's not a wolf...it's a wolf / dog hybrid
they cross wolves with huskies or shepards....
so some vain people can legally have a wolf as a pet....
shame on them

your question hits so close to home....my son's in-laws are hicks...no disrespect meant...they have 3 1/2 bred wolves...we use to know them years ago....and are so fearfull for our grandson....agree totally with earlier comments wolves are meant to be in the bush! Thank goodness they are penned up....idiots and weak people need protection....and they still can have it with wolves in Canada
