I have never known anyone that actually stayed with a person who gave her a promise ring.

It's called a promise ring, first of all. And you give a promise ring to someone when you are promising them something, like, love related things. It's the ring that comes before the engagement ring. Why would you give it to them? Because it's a honest promise that you are very serious about and that should never be broken! And because you love them! And what not.

a promise ring is something you give to someone you love very much and would like to marry. some ppl do this before you get engaged, but you dont have to. you usually do it if your a bit to young to buy a ring, but want the one you love to know that you really do care about her and to show youll always be there, but that the two of you arent to the piont of engagement yet. hope this helps babe.

Well, my b/f gave me a promise ring before I moved and I've had it a yr. Our promise was to keep each other in our hearts while we live through the 2 hr. drive from each other. To stay honest to each other, to get strong and in hopes to move on to the next level of commitment.
