They lack Vitamin E that they can get from the sun.

Do they hide in the basement and go on Yahoo! Answers all day to have pale skin?

Having a natural tan from the sun is normal and healthy.

Absolutely not. If a person has pale skin then more than likely that is the persons natural skin color. A persons skin pigment is hereditary; meaning coming from their parents. Some people that do have pale skin make it a point to not be in the sun because they will get sunburned.

Just because you have pale skin doesn't mean you have a lack of vitamin E. The amount of pigment in your skin depends on how close your ancestors lived to the equator. People closer to the equator have darker skin. It is better to be pale than be tan and end up with skin cancer.

These days pale is good. With the amout of UV rays and the Ozone crumbling the more pale the better. Yes, sunlight does help the body produce some vitamins but you can get those from fruits and veggies. Skin Cancer is very deadly. Pale power.

nooo. pale skin is a lack of natural melanin. i mean think about children. if you see a child with fair skin and a child with darker skin, it doesn't mean that the paler one has sat inside their entire life and it doesn't mean that the darker-toned one lives outside. vitamins received from the sun stimulate the melanin in the skin, resulting in the darkening of the skin; it's also a kind of natural protection from the sun's rays... it absorbs the more harmful rays. that's why albino people (or animals, whatever) have no skin pigmentation, and cannot be overexposed to the sunlight; because they have no melanin and therefore cannot tolerate the sun's more dangerous rays.

I'm just telling you what i remember from years ago in school. it's just the basics, but if you're truly interested I'm sure you could easily learn more by simply google-ing 'skin melanin' or something like that.

I am not sure, but it could be. Some people have pale skin because they do not go in the sun a lot.

Of course not! I know heaps of people with pale skin, and they are a fine.
You get Vitamin D from the sun, not E.
It may be due to lack of sun, but it may be also that their skin burns when exposed to too much sunlight, so they avoid it.

pale skin isn't a symptom of being unhealthy unless your skin is normally "not pale". It's a hereditary thing, people from Nordic countries are very pale, usually with blond or red hair and are very healthy.

Definately not! I have pale skin everywhere but my arms, and I'm probably the healthiest person in my home.
