I have no idea why- but when I turned it on there was this huge black circle and black lines coming out of it- and it is still on my screen. It looks like a hole with cracks coming out of it- but its not really. And it's always there now- from when I turn it on to when I turn it off. I have never seen anything like this- do you know what this is?? How do I get rid of it??

ok it's a laptop- sorry if I wasn't specific enough... and there is no actual crack on the screen, but its drawn on or something.. and it won't go away. It's there right now, blocking parts of this screen

I hate to say this, but from what you are telling me, your monitor is shot. It is probably time for a new one, I'm sorry.

my roommates flat panel monitor got hit by a airsoft pellet, and left a mark like that, it's permanent until you get a new monitor, but she plays World of Warcraft all the time so i'm sure she ignores it or has gotten used to it.

If its an LCD monitor, then the problem might be dead pixels. Some manufacturers will replace it for you if thats the case, so you should check with them.
