i just wanted to know so i can calculate how much money i will be getting on my paycheck. im starting a new job.

It depends on how much you make, because it's a sliding scale.

For someone making about $30K per year, its around 21% federal withholding, including social security. For someone making $100K per year, its over 30%. At the top end, its around 40% federal withholding.

when you are filing? 10 percent


oh for a paycheck that depends on your information you entered for withholding as you filled out all that paperwork...generally i notice around 21% of mine is taken out in federal, state, SS and medicare.
