potassium and / or magnesium! have her drink 4 ounces of tonic water, this will stop the craps instantly! A pinch (1/4 teaspoon) of epson saltz everday will prevent cramps and will keep the magnesium level where it should be! Many people don''t realise the fact that a lack of magnesium can cause a heart attack! Every morning I take a pinch of epson saltz and every evening before going to bed I drink 4 ounces of tonic water. 4 years ago I had leg cramps and cramps in my hands and feet so bad I couldn't sleep at night,a friend told me about the tonic water and epson saltz...that was 3 1/2 yrs ago and I haven't had any cramping since!

Alcohol strips magnesium a critical nutrient for nerve health. My father was a nutritionist most of his life developing and selling nutrients for Eastman Chemical. He was mainly involved in natural vitamin E.
Later in life he succumbed to alcoholism. Hiding bottles of cheap blended whiskey around the house for several years. He finally went in for the cure and detox. After suffering the cramps in legs and feet he recommended they add magnesium supplements to treatment. It really helped a lot of people and is now part of most programs.
Just make sure it is the right form of magnesium. There are two main kinds. Ask at a health food store.
Personally I take a supplement with potassium, calcium & magnesium daily.
Quinine helps in serious emergencies while cramps are occurring and can stop them in a few minutes. Just don't use often as it can cause other problems.
Kraut juice and natural cider vinegar can also stop bad cramps by replacing electrolytes.

Potassium! I get cramps in my feet too when I don't get enough potassium. I eat a banana for breakfast everyday and I don't get any cramps! Plus, bananas are cheap and can be thrown on cereal, into a smoothie, or just eaten whole.

I would suggest the following:
OsteoMatrix (calcium/magnesium): natural muscle relaxant; provides proper building blocks for bones
Vita-E: improves limb circulation by increasing capillary blood flow
Optiflora: reduces nutrient malabsorption
Alfalfa Complex: overcomes trace mineral deficiency
These are truly natural Shaklee products.

Magnesium, Potassium and other Minerals. Take a multi Vitamin and mineral every day. Take a bath in Epsom salts. It is magnesium and it does go through the skin.
God Bless You, ;-)

The potassium answers are correct, but I might add to hydrate also. Intake a few glasses of water before working out.
