I knew from day one she was a brown nosing messy little witch(minus the 'w' add a 'b') SHe runs to the managers and other co workers and tells them every little detail of what goes on. Recently, I just stoped speaking with her all (just used to say hello, and keep short work related convo, now i barely say good evening) She has started this rumor to all managment and workers that I don't work and just talk to other people, etc. etc. Now we are under new management and I'm afraid my job is on the line b/c she has probally gone to them too. I know I'm doing my job so I shouldn't be concerned but I've been sick lately and had to take time off of work. I'm scared for my job b/c they are "weeding out" the slackers and people who don't come into work. What should I do? I really want to pull her as* to the back and give her a good NY beatdown, but we already know that's not the "civil" thing to do. Please help. Seriously. It's getting out of hand

I had this situation once in my career. I just kept my nose to the grindstone and things worked out beautifully. After a few months I realized that our boss actually knew what was going on and he viewed the people the snitch complained about were actually the ones she felt most threatened by. She was actually helping my career with her complaining!! Your recent need to take time off makes your situation somewhat different. My advise on this is to talk to your manager. Their should not be multiple people in charge of you ... if there is then apply this advice to all of them. In your discussion do not bring up the snitch ... ignore her in public and behind closed doors. (continue to say hi... keep things "normal" ... but don't hang out with her, etc.) Tell the boss your back to 100% and ready to make an impact. Ask for more responsibility ,,, be confident, aggressive, and assertive. You may rise above the be otch some day and then you can put the laser beam right between her eyes and fire .. or just keep aiming it her to make her sweat. Get pumped up!! Damn the torpedos - full speed ahead!!

If you know that she is a brown noser then you need to use that to your advantage. Have you ever heard of keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Be the best friend she never had. Ask out for drinks after work with the girls or out to a party or club on the weekend. If you don't like her odds are no one else at work does either and she may act like she doesn't care but nobody wants to be an outsider. She will think that she is making social progress and begin telling management what a hard worker you are so that she can remain your friend. If she is as good as a brown noser as you say she is they will believe her and you have nothing to worry about. Just turn your negative into a positive! Your livelihood is worth being phony over until you are able to move on.

The best thing to do with this girl is to avoid confrontation with her, do your job to the best of your abilities and make sure you point out and compare your job to others. Give yourself recognition to the managment compare yourself to everyone else and stand above all, if you are doing what is expected and more you have job security. When I find myself working with some one that I do not get along with I go in for the kill. Start doing my job faster, better, more precice and I am always sure to point out to managment the things that I have done. Hope this helps alittle its kinda hard to explaine ;)

CYA and keep a paper trail of every good thing you do. It's important if a manager e-mails you thanks for a job well done, etc. Never ever throw these out.

Set her on fire. Rubbing alcohol and a match, we'll say "vaporized" Blame it on spontaneous combustion, clean up the mess, problem solved. Hope this helps.

I WOULD GO TO YOUR NEW BOSSES AND LET THEM KNOW THAT THERE HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THIS GIRL SABOTAGING OTHER'S CAREERS AND THAT YOU'D APPRECIATE THEM TELLING YOU IF THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH YOU BECAUSE YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR JOB. THIS MIGHT BE ABLE TO NIP THE PROBLEM RIGHT IN THE BUD.

this doesn't all work perfectly but i think it is the right thing to do:
let your actions speak louder than words...in the long run, you will be treated the best.
