Even if you didn't believe the bible or in god you should swear on it because then if you lie it shouldn't matter

I believe the Bible to be a book of truth...however, that same Bible says NOT to make oaths by God or anyone or anything else...it says let your word be good enough...your Yes be Yes and your No be No...so, based on that, No, I would not swear on the Bible.

It is an exercise we go through. I used to swear to affidavits with a lawyer, and we both had a laugh about it after. I don't personally find it important enough to argue about.
