Good question! I grew up in a financially well off (rich) family and when I got "out on my own" I became "poor". I still have some of the same friends. So the rich and the poor can be friends.

Yes. I am also a financially challenged friend. What's your point? Would you be more of a friend to someone with more money? When you are truly a friend, money doesn't matter. I love my friends and they love me whether I can pick up the tab or not.

Yes, I work for an organization that deals specifically with less-fortunate people, and I do consider a lot of them friends.

Eventhough they are poor, they are very pleasant to talk to.

yes...poor but friends none the less...our friendship overcomes the money difference...I help but do not enable their choices on their lifestyle
