yes. infants before age 3 have not fully developed their brain connections for memory storage (neurons have not interconnected as much). this process is developed by age 3, when you should have your earliest memory. anything you remember from age 1 is something your brain recreated from old baby photos or movies.

I think you might be a bit unusual...my first memory is around the age of two. I know it wasn't from family lore because I had a two year old's perception of it...and when I asked my mother about it; it made a whole lot more sense than the way I actually remembered it. Many people seem to have their first memory around five...while others tell me they don't t remember a thing before their eighth birthday...which I find incredible. Great Question.

Not at all. It doesn't happen for everyone, but it is possible.

My very earliest memory is one of trying to climb into this huge chair (which was a match to the couch). I remember climbing and falling and then trying to climb again. I couldn't possibly been any older than you were. And I'm 47 years old now.

Unusual, but not strange. I have a clear memory in my head from when I was approximately a year old. Another when I was 18 months old. Neither do I recall often. Somethings are best left forgotten in the dusty storage chambers of our minds.

no, i remember a couple things from when i was that young and i am 26. Biggest thing is if what you remember was talked about alot because you may "think" you remember is b/c you have heard the stories so much.....but even then, it's still possible.

Is it a true memory or is it one that you have heard about so much you think it is a memory?

Not strange at all. Our brains record everything we ever experience, we just do not always remember it all.
