Should we go after Soriano? I think we should trade for him. We also need a starting pitcher. Should we go after Maddux?

Yes, lets hope they're back on track! I think the Betemit trade was good. Soriano would also be good but he won't come cheap so I don't see the Dodgers getting him. They can and should get Maddux though, like you said they need a good starting pitcher.

Dodgers are in pretty good shape to win the division. Soriano can only help the Dodgers but he does bring some baggage with him. If Maddux goes anyway it will most likely be the Mets. Galvine is pushing management to get him.

The NL West is such a weak division that it really won't matter who wins, Dodgers or otherwise. It will be one and done in the playoffs. To get someone of Soriano's stature, who is L.A. going to give up? The Nationals will demand a lot in return. Maddux is a more logical target, though I'd rather see him finish out his career in Chicago.
