I follow the guidlines given in this passage so that they will feel bad about their actions and I won't become a hypocrite and get caught up in being rude just like them.

Romans 12:17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." 20 To the contrary, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I am polite almost to the point of being sickly sweet to them. I figure they might be having a bad day, or it might just be that they don't realize how rude they are.

Either way, it usually makes them stop and think about it when someone smiles, & tells them to have a nice day. I've had several people walk away with a shamed look on thier faces before. ;)

I once told a very rude woman who was being mean to the cashier in a store : "youre just mad because youre ugly" The poor cashier who was being abused just about dropped her jaw on the floor and I could tell it made her day. Hey rude people! Piss off!!!!!

Unfortunatley I tend to be rude back. If I am not in a bad mood already or they aren't saying anything that pushes my buttons I try to ignore them.

I try to remember that I'm not in High School anymore so I can't get in a cat fight without going to jail. As best as I can I ignore them - there are so many HATERS out there - even on here with jealous little girls reporting!!! I'm going to change my picture to some big fat ugly dude so they leave me alone!!! Thanks - had to vent!

You give smart comebacks without an attitude, and introduce them to the polite side of everything.

I ignore them and act as politely as possible to others around me, just to set an example.

it depends on how they're being rude. I usually say something like, "I'm sorry to see you're having such a bad day.." killing them with kindness is the best thing to do.

either i ignore them or avoid them. and if that doesn't work pretend to be in the conversation but make fun of them in a joke joke way. they'll get the hint.

and if that still doesn't work...i put them in their place. i got a big mouth on me.
