I am a Mets fan since the beginning, and attended the Braves game Friday night. I hate the Braves but one year of the Mets being in first place does not make up for the Braves long time record. Their tomahawk chop and music is the most annoying thing I've ever seen. As a Mets fan of long standing, I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch, but i love the Mets no matter what.

Let's see, the Braves are 14 games behind, with 60 games left. Let's say the Mets only play .500 ball for the rest of the season (they're playing .600 now), their final tally will be 92 wins and 71 losses. The Braves will have to win 44 of their next 60 games just to catch up, or .733 ball. If the mets keep at their current rate, they will finish the season with 98 wins, and the Braves will have to play .800 ball to catch up. It's not going to happen.

Loyalty to your team is a charming attribute, Deblyn, but noone, not even the Mets, will choke that bad. Remember the words of the Cubs fans, "Just wait until next year".

Hey Pal! I've been rooting for the Braves since 66 and been through good and bad. Maybe you got it this year and if so congratulations. I'm proud of the Braves and all of their accomplishments anyway regardless of how this season ends up. You New Yorkers seem to be very brash and would not know how to ever give anyone else credit. I am not a loser fan because we have been kicking your fanny for a long time and so goes baseball. And by the way, I would never call another team losers regardless of who they are because I have more class than that! When you put up 14 division titles up in Shea, then you can brag a little. Lets Go Braves!

After a brief return to being a respectable baseball team it seems that the Braves are returning to their early season form. There is a good deal of young offensive talent for Atlanta, but their pitching leaves a lot to be desired. I don't see how they will make a serious run at the wild-card because of this deficiency. They do have a good foundation for the future though.

Yes, I am a loser Braves fan, I'll admit it. But the season's not over yet, mister. We are only 12 games behind, and if we get really good, we might have a chance.
Face it, every year, we come alive after the All Star break, and always win NL East, always. The Mets just got a little lucky this year, but, eventually, they will choke like they always do.

Go Braves!!!
