I've never seen Liberals do this, why the NEOCONS?

Indirectley (for now), Many NEOCONS preaching the politics of fear and hate, If one dares disagree, he/she is labled as Un-American or subversive, i.e. TRYING to make liberal a "dirty word".

This administration has taken away many of our free speech rights in the name of safety or anti-terrorism. Bush's secret service officers set up 'free speech zones' whereever he travels. This is an offensive phrase, because ALL of America is by law a free speech zone. What they actually mean is that you cannot demonstrate against the president within his sight. Even wearing the wrong T-shirt, never mind carrying a banner, will get you sent to the free-speech zone, which is typically at least half a mile from where he is appearing.

The appeals court has told Bush to stop this unconstitutional behavior, but he continues.

Our rights as citizens have been deeply eroded by a president who cares nothing for the constitution. The 'signing statements' he uses to state that he will not carry out the laws enacted by congress are yet another example of how the executive branch has effectively emasculated our government, transferring power to the President. The fact that no charges have been brought despite the illegal wire tapping of citizens and many other abuses, speaks volumes for his disrespect for our country.

You kidding...if someone says something non-PC the Liberals are the first to try to quell someones speech.

I don't like racist speech...or sexist speech...but people are accused of it all the time.. Neocons only call Liberals , Liberal...they will defend your right to say whatever...however.

Burning a flag is not free speech...it may be free expression though? And I personally would not jail someone for it.

The Un-American / Subversive stuff is antequated...rare...and usually used by those not main stream...however, mainstream Democrats and Liberals...go PC on others all the time...Let's all stop politiciizing and work on issues

If you haven't seen Liberals doing this, you just haven't been looking. Just try to be a teacher and mention the word Jesus. Try to be a Boy Scout and mention the word God. What about the nut in California who wants the word God taken off money and out of the Pledge?
What about school prayer? What about speeches at graduation?
It happens all the time. I saw a woman verbally torn to shreds for answering the question, "What does it mean to be a Christian?" She answered by quoting a few Bible versus and people went nuts.
So, don't try to tell me that liberals don't try to limit freedom of speech. The ACLU makes it living trying to quell freedom of speech.

You provide no examples of this quelling. This is a straw man argument, using the left's new catchphrase, "NEOCON."

I would bet you don't even know what "NEOCON" means, and how a NEOCON varies from a Conservative like Ronald Reagan or Barry Goldwater. You probably even think GW Bush is a NEOCON... the fact is that GHW Bush was a NEOCON, but GW is about as far from one as can be.

How has anyone tried to stop your freedom of speech? I've seen liberals do this, last week.

In Congress, when the new Iraqi Prime Minister was going to speak, they tried to stop him from addressing Congress because they didn't agree with some of his public policy positions. I don't agree with his positions either, but he should have the right to freely speak in front of Congress.

And by Neocon, I think he means neo=new, con=conservative, for all you answerers out there.

I agree with FARKAS149 that the extreme people of these groups are free speech quelchers. It is true Dr. Feelgood, from my experience and research, with the help of conservative/corporate controlled media that your ability to form an open opinion that differs with the administration is being silenced. Just go to any protest and watch how closely even our own police force is used to silence free speech. My fear is that eventually the people can take just so much before we (democrats/republicans) say ENOUGH is ENOUGH. We can only do this together and we need to stop watching media propoganda that is just bubble gum for the mindless.

You are right that SOME "neocons" do this. But there are liberals who do it, too. Maybe you don't notice it as much because you are semi-liberal yourself.
