It's according what they ask...If it's a kid. Then I think they need help or are to scared to ask anyone in the family. A adult asking odd question is really freaky........

If you mean like meeting someone at the laundromat at 12 am and they want to tell you about how their spouse if trying to make them wear leather dog collars and howl at the moon, yeah that is really worse than creepy that is call me a cab to go shopping for new clothes tomorrow, cause I am out of here tonight and you can keep all the stuff in the washer.
But if you mean this kind of anonymous thing here on this site, shoot no, I love it , this is the most relaxing thing I have found to do in years, I get to answer questions without somebody interrupting me ( which is nonexistent outside this site) I get to talk and type anything I feel is important to the asker, and I am very careful about the abuse thing you know. That would be a kicker in the hindy. this is fun and I have fun and I hope I make other people join in the fun. We rock on girlfriend!

No, not really. It is easier to talk to a stranger about problems than it is to a friend.
I am glad I have the type of face, and radiate the right sort of personality that makes people feel comfortable with talking to me even though they don't know me.
We are all in this world together, and, If talking to me about their problems can make someone feel a tad better, then I feel like I am an active participant in this game called life...and that is a nice warm feeling.

In my opinion, people who do this seek to have attention, friends, the spotlight, they want to feel included and that they to have "drama", or maybe they want people to feel sorry for them or are really desparate to be loved or they love to gossip about other people so much they forget they were talking about themselves and now they regret it! Yes it is creepy in a way. And just to sum it up, it does depend on how much of their personal business they share and exactly what the topic is about! lol

It is, but I think some people are lonely and/or bored. Or else they feel like since they probably won't ever see you again, it's a safe thing to do. They might not be able to talk about certain things with friends/family, or maybe don't have a relationship with others for some reason.
So they need to unload their problems, and you just happen to be there so it's convenient for them but not so comfortable for you!!

Depends on the person and situation, but if they start going to far to that place where I don't want to hear anymore, I'll usually say very politely: "Too much information. Maybe I'm not the best person to tell this to. Sorry."

some times it is easier to tell a stranger then someone you know and i think other times they just feel that your a good person and will listen and not judge, latest i think it can be sad because they have no one in their life's that listen to them..... but if it's some perv on the phone or something perverted then it's creepy

Yes it is, but maybe you have the type of manner that invites people to confide in you? Lots of therapists work hard for that!

My mom and I were just talking about that today. that's strange. We decided we must look like the gullible person who will indulge them and their personal problems for a moment without judging. strange huh?
