You need to tell us why they told you that you cannot join. There is no requirement for citizenship in the US to join the Army, just a requirement that you be a legal resident of the US. As a matter of fact, one of the quickest ways to become a US citizen is to serve a term on active duty in our military.

You need to ask the recruiter that question. I don't know if he *has* to tell you, but he should - especially if there's some way to resolve it. Some foreign nationals are allowed to serve, at least on a provisional basis. Most likely you come from a nation that is considered a security risk, or have relatives who are.

If you're just not qualified, you're out of luck.

that's just their rules right now, but here in a few months when we don't have an army anymore, they'll take anyone. that'll be right before the draft, of course.
