The ownership has made some changes in the front office, the coaching and some player moves, but is that enough? Can they ever win it again under the current ownership and return to the days where they dominated the ice?

their chances are alot better and i would put them in the upper half of the league as far as talent adding guys like Chara and Donovan to let their scorers score and keep the pressure off Thomas or Toivonen who ever wins the job.. i'm a Toronto Fan who is looking forwrd to these two original 6 teams to come alive for a new generation of hockey fans and to renew the rivalry that has gone soft over the last couple decades..

Let's hope the Bruins never win the Stanley Cup again, or even qualify for the playoffs for that matter. New Englanders should celebrate the Red Sox and Patriots, and just punt the Bruins. Boston is a city that took such pride in beating Buffalo, Hartford and Quebec each season and now two of those franchises have won the Cup and the other team is really, really close. If a franchise wants to have a parade for a player who wins a Cup for another team, and also deems Joe Thornton as not worthy to play on your team, you deserve all the bad luck there is. Break out those vintage clips of Bobby Orr flying through the air and Dmitri Khrystich shooting at targets at the All Star Game...you will never win another Cup.

I don't know about a Cup -- there's too many variables. It's not just the Bruins, it's what the rest of the league looks like.

But will they make the playoffs?

I'd say within the next 3 years, once the team has a chance to gel.

There's a good mix of players there right now, and probably will be even better as they continue to cull and replace old, overpaid players with fresh young blood.

Goaltending needs to get way harder core before they have anything close to a shot, though.

I predict that's the next place we see a major change. They need a seasoned veteran with some smarts.

Any team has a chance of winning a stanley cup. One example is the Buffalo Sabres. Nobody gave them a chance in hell in the beginning of the season and they were 1 games and 4 less injured players away from the Stanley Cup. So I will say yes they do have a shot i dont think a good one but like i said any team has one. When it comes down to ever then Yes eventually they will. I think 1 thing that hurts them however is they play in a very very tough division where 3 team made the playoffs last season.

I hear very little news of most teams in most sports, but what I have heard of the Bruins sounds encouraging. Harry Sindens' way of managing a team does not fit today. Even the Wirtz family signed a few free agents. The signs are good in Beantown and the front office has to remain focused on the goal of winning a championship by developing talent, make smart trades and free agent signings.

Can they? Sure. Will they? I don't think anytime soon. They have way too many issues facing the team. Maybe if they give this new coach about 4 years to turn things around they might actually get past the first round.

There's always a chance. All these airplanes flying around, a few are bound to crash eventually, And ofcourse as long the Toronto Maple Laughs have their management in place. the bruins won't be dead last in the East.
