They cleared out the cashes of weapons in this town and left. However they are going to keep the planes and rockets close at hand if the Hezbollah return to use this city.

As a Ret. US Marine I would say thats what I would do.

it's called scorched earth. Call in the air support.
blast the he-ll out of everything then go back to mop up.

Frankly its the safest way to protect your own troups.
the sad fact is most of the people killed in such a raid are women and children.
