when you reboot press F5 and you will get a new menu - choose windows with safe mode and then log in as administrator - you should then be able to go to user accounts, find your name and remove your password from the account - then reboot and try again you should be able to get in no problem

You did not say what is asking you for the password. The answer is different for

o Bios password
o WIndows password
o Network password
o Privacy software password

Opps,

My lap top locked up one day and after wards it would not accept my password. I contacted Toshiba and Microsoft Windows and both said it is illegal to help me get past the password.

I ended up putting in the recovery disk and reinstalled the original setup for the computer. Lost all my data and stored pictures.

Good luck.

That's so funny because that happened to me this am! I'm assuming that you don't have to log on too often as is the case with me. The bigger problem was that it was saying my password was wrong when I knew it wasn't. I just restarted it and the problem did not reoccur.
