There are many things that could be making you dizzy. Inner ear problems, heart problems, vascular problems, diabetes... it's important that you see a doctor if it's happening frequently.

It sounds like Vertigo to me. I have exteram Vertigo and I get so dizzy I can;t even sit up. This will happen 2 or 3 times a day and last for about 30 min. ever time. Then I am sick for about 2hours after it. I take pills for it but thet don't work to good for me. You should see a Dr. Because if it is Vertigo they can fix it if you don't waite to long like i did. My Vertigo had been going on for 5 years now!! And man you dont know what mental problems are untill you have exteram Vertigo!!. It's like everything is going so WRONG!! Nothing you do can stop it. So don't be stupid like i am if I had went when it first started I woulden be in the shape I am in now!! Don't put it off if it is Vertigo It will only get WORSE!!

I would be willing to bet that you get dizzy when you stand up suddenly...or if you bend down to pick up something, right? As a smoker, it is likely that you have a blood pressure problem (I smoke too, so i know what you're talking about). I started drinking TONS of water everyday and, though I still smoke, the dizziness disappeared. My personal dizziness was like a wave of travelling darkness that closed in on the sides of my eyes and you almost feel like you're going to faint...then it fades quickly. Try the water!

Ask for a cat scan, or MRI at you next check up. My 17 year old cousin had the same symptom. He had been feeling dizzy and fainted a couple of times. This had been going on a year until he suddenly lost eye sight 3 weeks ago, they did a CT scan, or MRI and he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor called suprasellular brain tumor,he is now at the childrens hospital in st louis undergoing radiation and chemo to shrink the tumor. Have them check for an anurysum, my mother had one of these she lived, my aunt had one a year before my mother and died. Do you have a signifigant family hx?

Sorry to sound like a worrier but you have to know what is up with your health because doctors are still "practicing".

You should at least get check out by an MD. When you say "I get dizzy" that leaves it open to many things. One thing many smokers do not realize is the effect of smoking on their inned ear. Any disruption there such as inflammation, infection etc. can produce severe dizziness one of which is known as Meniers Syndrome. Easy treated but undiagnosed the dizziness can get worse. Good Luck and Be smart..check it out!!!

Let me first say that I am NOT a doctor...You need to quit smoking, continue to eat a balanced diet, and start off with slow exercise (walking). Not to scare you, but I had a friend about your age who always asked me to cover for him at work while he went to get some air b/c he was dizzy. I didn't think anything of it until several months later when he had a stroke. He was around your age and overweight. You need to see a doctor a.s.a.p and change your bad habits.

It's time for a visit to your doctor. It could be things to worry about, such as your blood pressure, heart, lungs or circulatory system. It could also be an inner ear infection or, like you said, stress that's causing the dizziness. Smoking could exacerbate that problem as well, but I definitely share the recommendation that your doctor needs to check you over and see what's up.

What makes you think you are looking at a stroke soon? Are you trying to kill yourself with your smoking? Go to the doctor to be sure what is wrong, but it can be just stress.

that is something you should look into.but, i know i get dizzy based on the fact that i do not consume enough water in a day to support the whether out side. you might get dehydrated too quickly, or try eating smaller portion of food through the day so that you are getting enough sustinence to support your body

It is probably linked to the smoking, but I am sure that you knew that.

Do you eat badly as well? If so, start first by fixing your diet. Eat better foods, more vegitables, less sugar.
