Anyone else been sat on the train or tube recentloy and had to listern to some kid play rap music on loudspeaker on their mobile MP3 player so everyone else can here ? Why can't they use headphones??? I get so angry with it. You know they won't turn it off and you'll get knifed if you ask them.

I'm sure some rap music might have some appeal to a few people, but I hate the stuff. My idea is to download a load of classic music onto my MP3 on my phone and sit down next to them with it playing on loud speaker. Hopefully Motzart will drown out the hip hop or he'll agree to turn his off if I turn mine off.

Anyone else got any ideas or know why they do it? Anyone actually like rap music or hip hop (not that everyone likes Mozart of course)?

Why should I have to move ? Why can't they have head phones, they just do it to piss people off.

Yeah! Classical rules! Although, I'm more of a Beethoven man: play Symphony No 9, movt. 4, that'll drown out bl**dy everything!
I know what you mean, though. I don't think that there is any way to stop them, because, as you said: "you'll get knifed if you ask them". I guess that the only way would be to ask a train attendee, although you don't get them on the tube.

it's a sign of the times.... these kids that do it obviously have no regard for others. It's not just rap music though and I'm 21 and I get p!ssed off with it and you can't accuse me of being a grumpy old woman. Personally I just listen to my i-pod
But seriously dude don't generalise about this it's the act of playing the music on public transport that gets me not the genre.

But hey it's not the end of the world is it?!

Buy a car and crank some Bocelli. Buy some sweet subs and a nice amp. Blow the folks out of the water. If you're riding the bus or train, sorry, you're SOL. It's the price you refuse to pay for the gas. Buy some DJ style headphones and a CD player otherwise. It'll get you through. Otherwise, yeah, you're gonna have to suck it up. Sorry.

I have
.....its irritating as hell. Why do people who listen to Rap, think that everyone wants to hear it.

I'm a smoker but a respectful one. I don't push my smoke off on people who don't partake. I think the same crap that smoker's have to listen about smoking...where you can and where you can't .....and "Oh my god, that smells awlful" remarks, and all the rules you have to abide by should apply to noise pollution.

But, I like your idea......people need to stand up to these rude and obnoxious type of people.
While I was on the train....I listened and watched the people playing it. They weren't doing it because they thought the music was cool and wanted everyone to think so too.....I could read their faces like a book.....they were doing it to piss people off and had that attitude that dared anyone to say anything.
It's crap and so are they!!

I hate rap too, but get your own mp3 player and drown them out with headphones, or get some portable speakers, and make them go def while you have earplugs

A tube of KY Jelly, a pair of rubber gloves and a suggestion accompanied by a repeated twitch of the head and a 'I'm really gonna do it' look always works....

I agree with you Robert,
The only solution for you is to go find the conductor and let them know about it. If you're talking about a subway, as distasteful as it is the only thing short of confrontation is to change cars.

well, playing your music probably will do nother i doubt that they car ewhether you are playing music too.

Although it is a shame that you assume that they will knife you simply because they are listening to rap music.

I like some rap and hip hop although, they are not similar music.
