The business about the rising sign is a good first bet. I would not rule that out. However, there are many factors.
One of the first things I do is look at the client's first house, which is that of the personality. It is the house which has as its door, the Ascendant or rising sign. The next step is to find where is the planet that rules the sign that is on the Ascendant. That shows me where the power is for the client. Example: say you have Pisces Ascendant, well, where is Neptune, its ruler? Is it over in 8th house? Well, we might be talking about addictive behaviors in regards to some serious stuff (like sex, for instance) as being a major deal in your life.
I also do a thing called Cosmo-dynes which rates planets, signs and houses for power and harmony. Very nifty package and does a nice math workup to summarize a chart that I might be having trouble with. Some charts are very convoluted, believe me!
I know, sounds pretty complicated. That is why professional astrologers turn their noses up at Sun-sign astrology. Good reason.
BTW, I was born March 21st, right on the cusp between Aries and Pisces. My sun is just barely in Aries. My moon is smack in the middle of Pisces. Yep, more Piscean in many aspects, and discordantly placed, too. *sigh*
So, the thing about getting your chart done will help you a little. It still will not give you much if all you want to do is read the sun-sign advise. If that is all you want, then read the Pisces column and be done with it.
However, a fine upstanding Aries most likely will eventually want their total natal chart interpretation done by a professional. I think it is worth the time and money. Then you can look at progressions: where the planets are moving in relation to your natal chart. Yeah, way cool and way complicated. Thank heavens for computers. Age of Aquarius, indeed.
I am not advertising here. I really do not need more clients. Suggest a natal chart with interpretation should not cost more than $50. Mostly these days I barter. Much more fun.

Pisces & Aries Pisces has a fleeting and practically solitary spirit which might initiate the Aries authoritarian developments, and the 2 indicators don't soothe every different. Pisces with ease submits to domination, because she or he is awash in an internal global in which truth has little final result. The power of Aries supplies wanted protection. The couple will role if the Ram surrounds the Pisces with steady affection. If now not, the Fish will spawn somewhere else, with out even turning round for a last farewell.

You were most likely born on a cusp that was more into Pisces than Aries. OR the most influentional person in your life was a Pisces and you are thinking more like that person Than an Aries personality.
lives of familiy and friends can also unflunce which traits come to the fore as all signs have their plus side and negitive side.

Perhaps the other signs in your horoscope are predominatly Pisces. You have twelve signs in your horoscope. The Sun sign is what you call "being an Aries", there is the moon sign, the Ascending sign, ect, ect. A good place to go to find out your full horoscope is Astro.com, as it is also free.

There are so many possibilites here. One is that your birth date is incorrect and you are a pisces.
Another real possibility is that you have so many other planets at the time of your birth in pisces, that it just about drowns out your aries traits.
It's better to find out where all your planets were at the time of your birth, and read the traits each gives you. Your 'sun' sign is not the sum total of who you are

The characteristics of the sun sign are not the only ones involved. The sun sign is generally how we know ourselves, and the rising sign is how others know us, sort of our personality, how we project ourselves. They can be confused one with the other. If you are interested in astrology, then you should get your horoscope done by a professional, or at least by one of the on-line services.....

Probably the same reason that I am a Capricorn and do not possess many of the characteristics that Caps supposedly do. I don't really believe in western astrology and horoscopes.
