I saw this on a web site saying you can bring new life to ni cad batteries by using this method.

Get a new one. what little improvement in performance comes from this method does not last. Batteries wear out.

Not sure what you're talking about, unless you just mean charging the battery up and then discharging it and repeating the cycle until about 60% of the capacity is restored (better than nothing).
I've done it and it does work.
