Can I eat cooked stuff that contains honey?

I've heard there's botulinum in it which might hurt my baby.

You can eat honey, cooked or raw. No honey for babies. Cooking honey doesn't kill all the bacteria spores that make babies sick. Spores can survive high temperatures for long periods of time. It is not worth the risk.

Yes, you can.

There is an extremely rare chance that honey will contain spores that can cause infant botulism. A young baby cannot kill the spores. Anyone over the age of 1 has higher acidity in the intestines. This kills the spores. So when you eat honey, the spores don't survive. The baby will be fine.

And, by the way, even *cooked* honey shouldn't be given to a baby. Normal home cooking does not kill the spores. In fact, since most commercial honey is cooked before sale, if cooking were sufficient, there wouldn't be any warnings needed, except for health food store honey (most of which is raw).

Yes, you can eat raw honey or anything cooked with honey. The concern is with babies eating raw honey. Babies should not have raw honey until they are at least 2 years old. If it's cooked honey, i.e. Honey Nut Cheerios, it's also safe for babies that are eating that type of solid food.

I have never heard of it during pregnancy but I have heard not to give honey to childen under the age of 5 I think it is. I believe your safe.

when i took my babies for last check up the doctor said dont give them honey till they get a year old. not before.
