I have nothing to hide either, but I mind because where does the invasion of privacy stop? If everybody goes "Oh I don't care, listen to my phone calls, check my bank accounts" that just gives the government power to go even further. Next they'll be tracing our keystrokes online or make us all get tracking devices implanted in our heads! Its sounds completely crazy but if we keep bending over for them it could happen.

Hun, that's been going on for whole lotta years. It's nothing new. If they want to look in my bank account, more power to them. If they can find some money that I missed, I sure hope they let me know.
There are 300 million people in this country, and they have 2-3 phones lines and lord knows how many cell phones. Do you honestly think they have the time to listen in to your tired calls unless there is a reason for them to? I know the technology very well, and its not possible dear. So calm down.

Leogirl pretty much said what I would have said. If the phone tapping, and bank account surveillance was happening to everyone, yes, I would have a problem with that. But it's not, so I don't. Besides, if they want to listen in on my phone conversations, they'll find them really boring.

I couldn't care less who listens to my phone conversations and who looks into my bank account. I mean, provided it's not a bank robber...then again...there's maybe $5.00 in there right now until the next pay day...so, whoever "peeks" at my bank account...big freakin' whoop.

would you want people listening to your phone calls or knowing exactly how you spend your money and how much you have? we have the freedom to be private citizens in the united states, and tapping phones and accessing bank info is illegal when you havent been under suspicion of committing a crime

Because its their personal business and no one elses. How would you like it if some person was peeking into your bank account or evesdropping on a personal phone call?
