Yes its a sports Car, and yes its a luxury car.
Puma, research please. The 911 debuted in 1963. It was originally supposed to be a 4-seater but Dr. Ferdinand Porsche changed his mind, as he figured it would then be competing with Mercedes-Benz. They already had a 2-seater in the 356 so they made it a 2+2 and made it more luxurious than the 356.
Hence, a luxruy sports car.
Blazs, the 997 Turbo does 0-100km/h in 3.9 secs or 0-62 mph in 3.9 secs. If my brand new 997 at $120,000 was doing 0-60 in 5 secs i would be just a bit concerned.
I agree they do have THE best brakes of any car hands down. Plus you can get the upgraded Ceramic composite brakes on the new 997 for $8000. yikes, but for rotors that you'll never have to change for the life of the car and pads that will last 100,000 miles, you make the call.

Well, edition 997 Turbo does 315 km/h in 6th and does 0-100 km/h in 5 seconds. The 911's brake system is considered the best among street production cars. The rear-engine layout is an excellent combination with the low centre-of-gravity flat six engine and all-wheel drive. Sleek, timeless lines, that conserved the base look since 1963.

Is it fun to drive? Yes.
Does it have more power and accelleration than anyone REALLY needs? Yes.
Does it corner like it's on rails? Yes.
Is the back seat barely big enough for a small child or a gym bag? Yes.
Therefore it is a sports car.

technically no, as a sports car is traditionally a FR light convertable, but in todays terms its in the tweener stage of Sports car and supercar.
They drive like supercars, but are about as fast as alot of higher end sports cars.

Eh, it's a beetle with big brakes. Personally, I'd take the 901 any day. That or a Ferrari Dino.
