How do you deal with people controlling you?

I do not think that someone should be controlled by anyone. I do not put up with it in my life, I do as I want when I want. I had a controlling husband for 10 years and I did not realize it until after I was divorced and started dating a wonderful man. I think if someone is trying to control you then you should tell them that you are a grown person and you are willing to take the responsibility of your actions. Hope this helps.

depends on the situation. All day people make that attempt and in some cases there is nothing you can do about it.

One example is a cashier making you wait while they putter around. They are controlling the time you have to wait for them. But since you want their service tyou have no choice but to not take it personally.

next time someone tries to control you, just stand up and say No!, (person's name), I refuse!! I am standing up for myself!!
I actually say this when people try controlling me. I usually do it in a laughable manner but it works for me.

Depends whom that person is ..ie parent ,school teacher ....that would be OK , if it just someone like a friend then dump them ....no ifs... no butts ....dump them ......NOW .
