No one is going to live in peace until certain people get over ancient history.

The people on this forum are overwhelmingly North American.
We don't remember well from decade to decade within our own history.

We surely don't care about the backward antics of cultures removed by thousands of mile and hundreds of years.

We really don't like it when you export you Old World hatreds here.

Someday Pakistan will have democracy in the Western sense, but no time soon. Fortunately, the leadership there is made up of pragmatic men who are doing all they can to contain belligerent and militant elements.

India is also run by pragmatists who have a long enough view of the future to invest patience with their neighbour.

Both countries are living under a Mutually Assured Destruction paradigm similar to the one employed during the Cold War.

They understand that democracy takes patience and compromise. As long as small incremental progress is made towards normalized relations, issues like Punjab, or the Saichen Glacier or religious differences can be dealt with peacefully.

Most people in both countries want peace, and those prospects are better now than in the past 60 years. At least each country is no long sponsored by opposing superpowers.

So barring a cataclysmic overthrow of the current military dictatorship by radical Islamo-facists, Pakistan will not be declared a terrorist nation.

It's high time it is declared one. I'm sick of having to see bombing after bombing in India, while the pakis go about with impunity professing innocence. The truth remains that pakistan is a nation without an identity or a purpose. It's sole purpose for creation was satisfying the overgrown ego of that goat-blower Jinnah. It's second purpose was decidedly to harm India in every way possible.
However, I don't blame the Muslims of India for terrorist attacks. They are just as Indian as we are. As for the history of 800 years, the weakness and disunity of our Hindu kings was more to blame.

If we declared as terrorists every country that has engaged in wars with its neighbors, or that has tried to enforce colonial rule, I think only Australia and Switzerland would not qualify.

Every country commits civil rights violations. Even America has its own share of atrocities, attempted genocides, and forced expulsion of entire peoples. But being a terrorist nation requires more than that.

And blaming a country for what its people did a hundred or three hundred or a thousand years ago is just pointless.

Not soon enough.

USA and others need to realize that Pakistan is doing nothing to stablize the region. They should have sided with India long ago (instead they feel that India will be democratic no matter what so lets side with Pakistan to keep them in line)

China is another one that shouldn't get the respect it does.

Declared by the U.S. to be a terrorist nation? Probably not very soon, given that the U.S. just sold F-16 fighter jets and other weapon systems to Pakistan.

only when Pakistani government STOPS aiding USA government in killing its own people, only then Pakistan can be declared as TERRORIST state. Only when Pakistanis choose their own destiny, only then it will be declared terrorist state. And btw, say terrorist, terrorist, terrorist TRILLION times to make yourself sleep a good night sleep, probably you are watching too much CNN/BBC. i wish you and your family to be safe from the FAKE "terrorism" being drummed up around you.

Whether Pakistan will be declared as a terrorist nation or not is not up to you to decide, it is up to our america to define, so you got it?
