The reason I'm asking this question is because Japan came in 10th on the top ten countries with the largest population.
India came in 3rd, and that just blows me away because India is one third the size of the United States and they have three times the amount of people. How can that be?

India and China's population makes up about 1/3 of the world's population. These countries are known for their huge populations. Japan is 377,873 square kilometers.

The US was very loosly populated until Europeans came. I didn;t say we were unpopulated, just lightly populated)
