I am thinking about going on a tour of Italy OR the Prague/Berlin/Vienna tour with Contiki tours. I am a 27 year old single female/ traveler. I was wondering what these tours are like and if they would be safe. Also, what warnings do you have about these tours. I want to meet to people but I dont want the WHOLE trip to be a drunk party fest. I actually want to learn about the places I visit. Any advice?

i had a great time, some people drink, some read, some tour, some listen to music .. it's a mixture of people and everyone does whatever they want, there is no pressure to do anything or even see anything if you do not want to .. you will have an awesome time

I went on a Contiki tour last september (European Highlights it was a budget tour, definately a money saver)and i had the time of my life. I went 2 of my friends. I was 20 at the time and i too wanted to see and experience europe and not want it to be a drunk party all the time. There were times when most people were drunk but maybe it was because there were a lot of Aussies on our bus. It did save some money, but some of their optional dinners were not worth it. I went to a dinner in florence and the food was not that great. oh yeah we dressed up nice because they told us it was a fancier place but its not necessary. It was actually a mistake because we had to walk on nonpaved roads back to the bus wearing our heels. If youre going to rome, definately do not take the walking tour they offer for an extra fee, a friend took it and thought it was a waste of time when you can do it on your own. you will meet great people who you can hang out with and explore places together. People come from all places in the world and you will definately learn about their culture, on our tour there were people from South Africa, Canada, US, Australia, New Zealand, philipines, China, Japan... but mostly aussies. Age ranges, the youngest on our tour was 18 and the oldest was 31. hope you have an awesome time!
