Climate (hot or cold, wet or dry) influences the rate of weathering and whether the weathering that occurs is more mechanical or more chemical.

Some climates have a cold season. In cold weather water in the cracks of rocks freezes. Since water expands when it freezes it causes more cracking and crumbling. Climates prone to heavy rains will suffer more runoff which will weather the land.
