Here are some step-by-step instructions.

BEFORE APPLYING MAKEUP: Before getting started, always make sure your face is freshly washed. Use

FOUNDATION: The key to using foundation is applying more where it is needed and less where it isn't. First apply foundation like a concealer-- only dot on in problematic areas. This may include under eyes, on blemishes, dark marks, and large marks. Then distribute the rest of your dots on the rest of your face. Remember to keep it minimal! If you put too many dots, your foundation will be very obvious. Try this.
Forehead: 3-4 dots
Nose: 1-2 dots
Cheeks: 3-4 dots each
Between nose and mouth: 1-2 dots
Chin: 1-2 dots
Next, spread the dots with a moistened makeup sponge. Make sure you wet your sponge before using it. It keeps your foundation looking much more natural and healthy.

POWDER: It is best to follow foundation with a pressed powder, unless your skin is very dry. If so, try using a loose powder instead if it works better for you. Lightly dust your applicator with some powder and sweep it over your face. Make sure you get rid of any shine if your skin is oily/combo, but don't make your face look really powder. Remember, less is more!
It helps to following your powder with a powder brush. If possible, use one with all-natural bristles and make light strokes around your face to blend the powder and give a smooth finish.

BLUSH: Blush gives a nice contrast to your cheeks because many people naturally have more color there. Lightly apply blush with a large powder brush if possible. Blow on the brush before applying to ensure there isn't too much. Smile and sweep your blush on the apples of your cheeks.

EYE MAKEUP: I'd suggest just putting on some mascara for an everyday look. Lightly apply the mascara, starting at the outer lashes and moving inward. Don't double-coat the mascara (that means don't apply another coat after the mascara has dried), just apply and let it dry. Avoid eyeliner and shadow. They aren't necessary for a natural look.

LIPS: I prefer a light, sheer gloss for a natural look. Choose one with a natural looking color and a not too much shine. If you have added too much gloss, lightly remove some with your finger until you are satisfied with the look.

make sure your liquid foundation is the same as your skin tone...when your searching for foudations, try them out near your jaw- line, where it's closest to your neck so you can make sure it's the right color tone...it has to match your neck.
if you pick too light of a foundation, it's gonna look like you have a cakey face.
and also, when u use the foundation, make sure to blend it in real well...use a sponge to blend it, or if you don't have a sponge, use your middle and ring finger to blend it...those are your make-up fingers. (learned that from a professional make-up aritst @ a work shop)
do u use blush??? if you do, get some blush on the brush, and turn the brush over. pretend it's a pencil and turn the pencil so that the eraser is touching the table...pretend the eraser is the end of the brush and the blush is at the top. and gently tap it on the table. and when your gonna put it on, smile, and apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks.
hope this helps.

When you put on your foundation, and you have it blended evenly, take a peice of paper towel and wipe you whole entire face with it that way you get off all the extra that you dont need. Dont use really dark colors of eye shadow, that makes you look like a clown, and dont use a dark lip stick or lip gloss, and use a light blush, then you should be good to go!

I put on eyeliner and mascara, and then if I feel like a little powder foundation. I also always carry around a chapstick or lip gloss, that way my lips look moisturized but I don't have to worry about too much color on my lips. (If you feel you look washed out try a tinted lip gloss with a little more color)

Most of the time you really don't need to use make-up. You only really need to use it to maybe hide some uneven spots on the face if at all. The more you use make-up the more your going to need it. It will hide your skin from the sun which will give you some of your natural color.

Plus, guys really don't take much note on how your make-up looks unless they are really really picky or gay.
