I know how you feel wanting someone you love to stop smoking...I went through the same thing with my dad.Well you could begin with telling her how much you love her and dont want her to die young...Also tell her how much money she could be saving by not smoking...my dad only smoked around two packs a day and is saving $56 a week. And last but not least tell her that if she doesnt stop pretty soon she could end up in a hospital or a funeral home and miss out on all the things god has planned for her...Wish you the best of luck

This is really tough. My current boyfriend smokes right now. He has tried before to stop.. and he did, for a long time... about a year or so.. except he started again. NOW he only smokes maybe 4 ports a day. Depending on his stress. I know you've said that you've tried telling him to stop.. maybe you should somehow realllly tell him that this is between smoking or his family. & that it's really hurting you. If he's tried before, than he can try again. Good Luck. If he does decide to try and quit.. just remember, give him time. Let it decrease over time.

My grandmother smoked forever (40-50 years) and she recently (about six months ago) went and got hypnotized. She hasn't smoked since. She is doning really good, even with my grandfather still smoking in the house everyday. Wish he would go next

explain the evils of smoking and the effects about them for the surroundings. it may hurt the children also. if not, ignore her to be babysitter and say the same to her.

As a smoker myself, there is NOTHING you could do to change her habits. U can lead a horse to water, but, u CANT make them drink! She has to decide and make the decision for herself!!
Lecturing her just makes it worse!!
Good luck!!

A smoker is like a drinker they have to want to quite!!
All you can do is talk to her about your concerns and tell her how much she means to you and your family and that you want her to be around to meet your grandchildren!!
Good Luck!!!

You can't --- I'm a smoker --- the more people get on my case, the more it makes me want to smoke. Leave her alone --- she'll quit when SHE is ready to --- not on your terms.
